Compensation

We have recently negotiated compensation packages for several shop owners affected by the extension of a Northern town centre. Their properties were compulsorily acquired and we have been able to obtain appropriate compensation and help to smooth the route to a new location for the shop owner. In another case, we have managed to negotiate compensation for an owner who did not wish to move, but was old enough to qualify for a payment based on the total extinguishments of his business and this suited him very much.

In these cases, individual clients have to be handled sensitively, because often their whole livelihood is at stake and having a Compulsory Purchase Order placed upon you, or even just the threat of one, can be very worrying indeed. It is therefore essential to choose a surveyor with the experience to guide you through what can sometimes be a very long process stretching over many years.
